The Stockholm Chamber of Commerce is an independent business organization with 2,400 member companies from the regions of Stockholm and Uppsala. The Chamber has a
staff of about fifty. The chief decision-making organ in the organization is the Chamber Council. The Council appoints the
Board of Directors, consisting of 12 members.
Mr Peje Emilsson is the current chairman. The Board of Directors in its turn appoints the CEO, currently Mrs Maria Rankka.
The Committees function as groups of experts within the Chamber. The Committees also analyse and gather information within their own areas of expertise to be used as a basis for management decisions.
In cooperation with other organisations, the Chamber manages several important bodies, including the Swedish Industry and Commerce Stock Exchange Committee, the Swedish Anti-Corruption Insitute, and Kungsträdgården - an outdoor meeting place in the centre of Stockholm. Together with the City of Stockholm the Chamber owns Stockholm International Fairs, Scandinavia's leading fair and congress centre.
Internationally, the Chamber co-operates with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Eurochambres. The Swedish Chambers also have a joint national organisation, the Swedish Chambers of Commerce.
